AURAPrivacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
We built AURA for people who want to grow, not to harvest your data. This policy explains plainly what we collect, why we collect it, and how you stay in control.
1. What data we collect
When you create an AURA account we collect your name and email address — either directly (if you sign up with email) or from Google (if you use Google sign-in). As you use the app we also store:
• Challenge responses you submit each day
• Rejection logs you record
• Your Aura Score and sub-scores (confidence, conversation flow, emotional intelligence, presence, bounce-back)
• Your streak and last-active date
• A profile photo if you choose to upload one
• Your gender preference (to personalise challenge scenarios)
We do not collect payment information directly — any future billing is handled by a third-party processor.
2. How we use your data
Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the AURA service:
• To calculate and track your Aura Score over time
• To personalise your daily challenges based on your weakest skills
• To power AI coaching conversations tailored to your progress
• To maintain your streak and send optional reminders
• To improve our AI models and challenge library (only in aggregate — never individually identifiable)
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Third-party services
AURA relies on a small set of carefully chosen third-party providers:
• Google OAuth — for sign-in. Google's privacy policy applies to the authentication step.
• Groq AI — powers our AI coaching and challenge evaluation. Prompts are sent with minimal context and are not retained by Groq beyond the request.
• Neon (PostgreSQL) — our database host, running in the EU.
• Vercel — our hosting and edge infrastructure, running globally.
• Resend — for transactional emails (password resets, welcome emails). Only your email address is shared.
• Plausible Analytics — cookie-free, privacy-respecting page view analytics. No personal data is shared.
Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
4. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including your profile, scores, challenge history, and rejection logs — is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Anonymised, aggregated statistics derived from your usage (e.g. "X% of users struggled with opener scenarios") may be retained indefinitely as they cannot be linked back to you.
5. Cookies and local storage
AURA uses browser local storage to maintain your session and remember lightweight preferences (such as whether you've completed the tutorial). We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
Our analytics provider, Plausible, is cookieless by design.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data (available in Settings → Danger zone)
• Object to certain types of processing
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@aurascore.in and we'll respond within 30 days.
7. Children
AURA is not directed at children under the age of 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 16 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date below and, for material changes, notify you by email. Continued use of AURA after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
